RentToll Fee Policy
Every page, calculator and checkout on RentToll reads its fee figures from this one policy, so the numbers can never disagree with each other.
What makes up a price
- Rental price
- The all-in rate shown on the listing. It contains the owner's payout plus RentToll's 30% marketplace fee.
- Delivery
- Only charged when the owner offers delivery and the renter chooses it. Collection in person is always free.
- RentToll marketplace fee
- 30% of the rental price. It is already inside the advertised rate — it is not added again at checkout.
- VAT / tax
- Not charged at present. RentToll's final VAT treatment will be published here once the operating entity's registration is confirmed.
- Refundable security deposit
- Set by the owner where required, held during the rental and returned after the item comes back as agreed. It is never platform or owner revenue.
If you rent
The rental price shown on a listing already includes RentToll's 30% marketplace fee. Delivery, if the owner offers it, is shown separately, and a refundable security deposit is never treated as rental revenue.
Security deposits are refundable and are held separately from rental income. Any deduction requires a documented reason and is shown before it is applied.
If you own
Owners set the payout they want. RentToll adds a 30% marketplace fee on top to form the renter price, so the amount an owner enters is the amount the owner receives.
Collection in person is always free. Delivery is optional and charged at the fee the owner sets.
Try the earnings estimator →What each verification badge means
One badge, one claim. A badge appears only when that specific check has actually been completed; otherwise the listing says “Not verified”.
- Identity verified
- The owner's identity document has been checked by RentToll.
- It says nothing about the item, its condition or the owner's reliability.
- Business verified
- A trade licence or business registration has been checked by RentToll.
- It is not an identity check of any individual staff member and not a quality check of stock.
- Contact verified
- A phone number or email address has been confirmed by code.
- It does not confirm who owns that number beyond the account holder.
- Item verified
- Listing details were checked against the owner's evidence for this specific item.
- It is not a physical inspection unless the listing also says condition was documented.
- Condition documented
- Photos and notes of the item's condition were recorded before handover.
- It is not a warranty about how the item will perform.
- Completed rentals
- The number of rentals that finished on RentToll, counted from real bookings.
- It is not a rating, and it is only shown when the count is above zero.
Questions
- Does RentToll add its 30% fee on top of the price I see?
- No. The price on the listing is the all-in rental rate and already contains the 30% marketplace fee. Delivery and any refundable deposit are shown separately before you pay.
- Is the security deposit part of the rental cost?
- No. A deposit is refundable and is held separately from rental income. It is returned after the item comes back as agreed, and any deduction needs a documented reason.
- What do owners actually receive?
- Owners set the payout they want. RentToll adds a 30% marketplace fee on top to form the renter price, so the amount an owner enters is the amount the owner receives.
- Is VAT charged?
- Not at present. RentToll's VAT treatment will be published here once the operating entity's registration is confirmed.
